Well the comics are back. Store is still under construction as I get things organized for the upcoming convention season, but comics will be back to normal from now on.
What’s so special about this upcoming convention season, you ask? Oh, just putting together something special to launch in May….
Happy holiday adventures everyone!
Important note: holiday shipping from my personal store is available until Friday December 6th! To further the holiday spirit, I’ve instituted a very important discount called The True Meaning of Crom - that means you can go to my shop, right here, this one, and grab whatever you want (books? pdfs? postcards? posters? originals?) at 20% off! The promo code is HOLIDAYCROMULENCE. You should probably check it out. Just in case.
Thanks to everyone who grabbed an original last week! That’s a third of my watercolours already claimed, you’re all blowing my mind. BLOWING MY MIND, BY CROM!
Torontonians! I’m part of three awesome things in the next month or so:
- WordPlay, put on by the Hand Eye Society
- Bit Bazaar, hosted at Bento Miso
- The Toronto Indie Arts Market’s Small Press and Literary Festival
I will have books on hand, I will be paneling at WordPlay, and I will be being as cromulent as humanly possible at all times. See you there?
Thanks SO VERY MUCH to everyone who came out to Canzine, you guys make me feel like a rock star! And to everyone who I met there, welcome, you guys must also be awesome!
Two awesome updates: firstly, By Crom! has a new home over on WealdComics.com - all the archives are up there now! If you prefer your comics in a tidy wordpress RSS that is the place to go. I’ll always crosspost here, so don’t fret, but there’s a second option!
Secondly, I’m doing a little giveaway for the launch of WealdComics.com - until Friday at midnight EST you can get a PDF of my sketchbook of Weald development work right here!
So yes, thanks again to everyone who came by for books and postcards and Conan shop talk, you warm my barbaric heart!
The scanning returns! Look at those crisp lines, that sweet watercolour textural detail, those colours. Living the DREAM here guys, living the dream.
Sorry for the delay this week! Awards to anyone who can figure out what prevented me from drawing and posting this comic yesterday…
And thanks again to everyone who picked up a book last week, I really appreciated your support! You guys warm my cold, barbaric heart.
Edit: new scan uploaded!
Last week, my scanner quit, so this week’s comic is currently a bit grungy as I cellphone-cameraed it, like in the old days! I’ll rescan it when my replacement scanner arrives, which should be in a week or so.
In memoriam to my old, magnificent, but ultimately mortal scanner, I’m putting the By Crom! book and pdf on sale till Friday. If you’ve been hemming and hawing about picking either up, here’s a great chance!
And since I had the cameraphone out for the working part of today, I also took a ton of process photos. Watch this space for a little process post on thumnailing, drawing, inking and watercolouring these comics in a day or two!
Thanks for your patience with this technical holdup - hopefully in two weeks we’ll be back to beautifully scanned, high-resolution watercolour comics!
edit: new scan uploaded!
Thanks to everyone who participated in last week’s postcard contest! I’ve sent out all the postcards except UnconsciousPlots' as I don't have your address yet! Drop me an ask or a fanmail or something so we can work that out and I can send you your free postcard!
If you were sad that you missed it, or if you want a postcard or two of your favourite comic instead, guess what! I’m selling postcards of the comics now!
They come singly or in packs of three, and any comic I’ve uploaded here is fair game (and some of the pinups too if you ask nicely!) - you get to tell me which ones you want in the “seller info” part of the checkout.
What do you guys think? Is that a neat piece of merch or is there other merch you’d rather I make?
